Timothy Allen And Marsha K. Benson

Timothy Allen and Marsha K. (Jones) Benson, of Fox Hunter Road, Mulkeytown, Illinois died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the Sparta Community Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident on Schuline Road south of Sparta.
        Timothy Allen Benson, 34 was born October 5, 1968 in Herrin, Illinois to Kenneth L. and Peggy Lou (Summers) Benson.
        He married Marsha K. Jones July 4, 2003 in Gattlinburg, Tennessee.
        Tim is survived by his father, Kenneth Benson of Royalton; a son, Tyler Benson of Peoria; a step-daughter, Jenna Shadowens of Mulkeytown; a step-son, Keith Jones of Sesser; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kendra and Steve Connor of Winslow, Indiana and Teresa and Danny Morgan of Johnston City  and a brother, Matt Benson of Roswell, Georgia.
        His mother, Peggy Lou Benson and a brother, Kenneth L. Benson, Jr. preceded him in death.
        Tim worked as a Set-up Technician at Continental Tire of North America in Mt. Vernon.  He was a member of the Fin and Feather Club in Freeman Spur and Ducks Unlimited.
        Marsha K. (Jones) Benson, 33, was born March 14, 1970 in DuQuoin, Illinois to Larry and Lucille (Watson) Jones.
        She is survived by her parents of Zeigler; a daughter, Jenna Shadowens of Mulkeytown; a step-son, Tyler Benson of Peoria; her maternal grandmother, Irma Watson of Zeigler, a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Shirley Jones of Mulkeytown and three nephews, Matthew, Aaron and Cameron Jones of Mulkeytown; paternal grandfather, Gene Jones of Mulkeytown.
        She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Elnora Jones and an uncle, Danny Watson.
        Marsha had worked with her brother and father as the comptroller at Percussion Bit and Tool in Benton.  She had worked at Herrin Security Bank.
        Funeral services for Tim and Marsha were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Christopher with Brother Donald Wright officiating.  Burial was at Zeigler Cemetery.  Visiting hours were from 4 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the church and after 9:00 a.m., Thursday until the hour of the services at the church.
        Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler was in charge of the arrangements.
        In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Tim and Marsha may be made to the "Tim and Marsha Benson Memorial Fund" for their children at the Herrin Security Bank.  Envelopes were available at the visitation and funeral or maybe mailed to the bank at 114 W. Monroe St., Herrin, IL 62948.
